Artichoke Tea and Fatty Liver

A recent clinical study was conducted to evaluate the effect of drinking artichoke tea in 70 Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) patients. The patients were given 1 tablespoon of artichoke leaf tea to brew in boiling water and drink twice daily for 45 days.

When comparing the results of the study, it was found that drinking artichoke tea every day for 45 days can reduce the severity of fatty liver disease. Hepatic enzyme values ​​were improved by measures of Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT) and Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST). The cholesterol (Cholesterol) in the patient’s blood was also significantly lower. while blood sugar and triglyceride values tend to decrease as well.

The Study have concluded that drinking tea made from artichoke helps patients with fatty liver improve liver symptoms. improved liver function and did not cause any side effects and complications from artichoke tea. Therefore, artichoke may be recommended as a herbal supplement in this group of patients.
